Founded by Jay & Denise Clayton

Our studio is open to the public and offers a co-working space for creative types, we conduct classes focused on using open-source software to create Animation as well as workshops related to many forms of design, arts, crafts and cooking.

Have you always wanted to dabble in cartooning, collage art or do you have an idea for an animated music video but just don't have the resources to bring your vision to reality? If so, our studio offers a sound booth, green screen, light tables, stop motion technology and more for use by the hour.

Public schools continue to slash budgets for the arts and sciences while the changing face of the workplace has affected the business of design and freelancers. Through our studio we feel Animation provides an opportunity to present concepts which will benefit students across the curriculum. While learning animation techniques participants will also hone skills in physics, upper level mathematics, problem solving, architecture, sound and music, acting, writing, storytelling etc.

We believe that by also offering tasty snacks, coffee and lunch items from our on-site catering kitchen, we encourage people to get the most out of the provided space and feel comfortable enough in a casual learning environment to engage with others on projects and try new things.

Spread the Weird Studio is located at 906 N. 5th Street in the heart of the First Friday Artwalk in Roosevelt Row. Roosevelt Row is an established entity in the thriving Downtown arts scene. The businesses represented within Roosevelt Row are committed to supporting one another and in building a strong locally supportive economy. We share this passion for 'local first' and feel that our concept fills a unique niche within this landscape.
